Tenerife firefighters attended 4,119 interventions last year, 9.4% more than in 2021

Regarding the statistics, the Chief Fire Officer, Florencio López, broke down the most important performances of the past year. Specifically, those that occurred in January in the island scrapyards in Granadilla, in July in a warehouse in the El Chorrillo industrial estate (Santa Cruz) and in August in a house in the Bel Air building in Puerto de la Cruz. Door openings increased slightly from 503 in 2021 to 532 in 2022 and interventions in traffic accidents they decreased by 1.88% (5.07% of the total incidents for the year) from 213 in 2021 to 209 in 2022.By municipalities, Santa Cruz and La Laguna are the ones that launch the most alerts, with 1,223 and 621 , respectively, followed by Arona with 335 and Adeje with 266. At the other extreme, El Tanque, Vilaflor and La Guancha are the ones that required the fewest interventions, with 7, 8 and 25 respectively. Finally, López indicated that through the 112 Coordination Center, 7,054 emergency calls were received in 2021 with an average response time of 15 seconds.
