The Bestial Race Series Naviera Armas starts on March 11 in Santiago del Teide

The new edition of the Bestial Race Series Naviera Armas will start on March 11 in the Tenerife town of Santiago del Teide. These obstacle races, which year after year gain more followers and which were presented this Tuesday morning at the Naviera Armas terminal, celebrate their tenth anniversary on the islands and in this edition they will be held again on the five islands from the Canary Islands where they have been held in recent years -Santiago del Teide, in Tenerife; Tuineje, in Fuerteventura; Yaiza, in Lanzarote; El Pinar, in El Hierro; and Arucas, in Gran Canaria-.

The first of the series tests will meet on the island of Tenerife on March 11 with the second edition of the Bestial Race Santiago del Teide. The Councilor for Sports of Santiago del Teide, Juan Carlos Gonzalez, said he was very proud of this new edition. “The first edition of the Bestial Race in Santiago del Teide was a complete success and hosting the first round of the Series is an honor and we hope to set the stage high. It is a test that generates a lot of economy for the municipality.”

He May 6th it will take place in Fuerteventurain the municipality of Tuineje, the second date, in the seventh edition of the Bestial Race Fuerteventura. The Councilor for Sports of Tuineje, Christian Cabrera, indicated that “Tuineje is chosen again for this type of event is a source of pride. It should be noted that this type of sporting event is the most important in the municipality, in which More than 1,000 runners participategiving a significant economic repercussion and valuing the municipality in all the Canary Islands”.

The fourth edition of the 10k Xtrem of Yaiza Bestial Race, on September 2, will be the third date. The Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, angel lake, stressed that “we have an important bet for Yaiza for sports tourism and the Bestial Race is the jewel in the crown in the municipality. We want to keep it, continue supporting it and betting on this obstacle course, which attracts a sports tourist who leaves the local economy in a pretty good place”.

The Series moves to El Hierro in the fourth appointment on October 28, with the third edition of El Secreto de El Pinar. He third deputy mayor of El Pinar, Juan Diaz, pointed out that “we are delighted to celebrate a new edition of the Bestial Race on the island of El Hierro, more specifically in the municipality of El Pinar. People enjoyed last year’s test and we hope that this year’s will go well and more riders will participate”.

Arucas closes the Series

The last appointment of the series is the Bestial Race of Gran Canariawhich will be held in the municipality of Arucas on December 9 and that this year celebrates its tenth anniversary. The Councilor for Sports of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Francisco Castilian, indicated that “the Bestial Race Series accommodates the largest obstacle tests in the Canary Islands, closing its circuit in Gran Canaria in December 2023”. In addition, he stressed about the last test that is held in Gran Canaria that “it is one of the best tests that are held on the island and, if you allow me, also at a national and European level, because more and more are a greater number of athletes who visit us. In the last edition, more than 1,700 runners visited us, valuing Gran Canaria as a European Island of Sport. From the Department of Sports we continue to encourage the organization and the town halls to continue betting on this unique sporting event in the Canary Islands”.

For his part, the councilor of Arucas, Jose Maria Gonzalez, explained that “finishing in Arucas with this Bestial Race Series 2023 is an attraction for the municipality. It is the municipal sports event with a large number of participants and we hope that this year will be as successful as in previous years”.

I congratulate Alfredo López for the idea that he came up with ten years ago and we hope that it will be a test that will continue to be held for many more years, uniting the Islands with a series like this.

Finally, Alfredo López, organizer of the test, He commented that “we live in a paradise where good weather accompanies us 365 days a year and we can hold great events like the Bestial Race. We start the year with great enthusiasm. We start in Tenerife in three weeks and with our vision and sights set on the last race of the series, the Bestial Race of Gran Canaria, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The strongest test of all the tests of the Bestial Race Series 2023 and in which we hope to exceed 2,000 participants”. In addition, the BeSport manager stressed that there will be many surprises in this tenth edition.

In these ten years, Bestial Race has held 32 events, with more than 34,000 participants. The organization has emphasized the tourist platform that the Bestial Race Series represents to promote the different municipalities of the archipelago in which they take place, which are present at Fitur.

The Bestial Race for 7 years has classified in the most important championships worldwidebeing the only obstacle course in the Canary Islands with these merits. This trajectory has placed it on several occasions among the 10 best races in Spain, being an international benchmark for the development of this sport.
