SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Fifteen candidates opt this Wednesday for the title of Queen of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a gala that will take place starting at 9:30 p.m. on the stage of the Fairgrounds and where the Carnival groups and the murgas will have a special role. The access doors to the Fairgrounds will open to the public at 7:30 p.m.
The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, has presented some of the details related to the Gala and thanked the thousands of people who are involved in this event, which will be attended by 4,500 people who sold out the tickets in less than two hours. and that it will be broadcast through the cameras of TVE and TVC for the whole world, as well as the written press and accredited radio stations.
The informative event also included the participation of the Councilor for Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello; the director of the Gala, Enrique Camacho; the guest artist, Carlos Rivera, as well as the singers Nía and the Knarias.
The Councilor for Fiestas highlighted the challenge of having 3,000 people on stage for a single show in which 95% of the people are amateurs and in which the Carnival groups will shine. He added that the Gala closes the events inside and next Friday the Carnival starts in the street with the Parade.
The director of the Gala, Enrique Camacho, was very happy with the pace of the rehearsals for tomorrow: “The people who participate always do it with their hearts and I would like tomorrow to recognize the work of these 3,000 people who have been coming to rehearse piecework throughout this week and that they are going to surprise us a lot. I have never seen his dedication”.
The singer Carlos Rivera admitted that “little thorn” that he had after having performed in 2021 without an audience due to the pandemic, and now with an audience in front of him who hopes that his applause can be heard and that is why he wanted to return.
The singers Nía and the Knarias thanked the trust to perform tomorrow at the Gala “and in this way value the Canarian talent in a show with the projection that the Gala of the Queen of Carnival has.”
The jury that will choose the new Carnival Queen and her four bridesmaids will be made up of Andrés Acosta, fashion designer; Nareme Melián, author of the Carnival 2023 poster; Roberto Siguero, graduate in Fine Arts, master’s degree in design and production of stage costumes and international gold medal 2011 and 2022; Henry Querales, creative director of the production company ACHE; Macarena Gomez, actress; Joshua Huerta, choreographer and dancer; Gonzalo Castañeda, radio, television and press communicator; Roberto Herrera, journalist and director of the Cerca de Ti program on TVE in the Canary Islands; Alma Andreu Robles, communicator; Marta Modino, TVC news presenter and editor; Carlos Gómez, agent, international model and director of Proyectea Rooms; Christina Gianpaoli, professional pilot; and Adexe & Nau, Canarian artists.
Televisión Canaria will broadcast tomorrow’s show live for the entire Archipelago while TVE will offer it, also live, for all of Spain, through La 2. Coverage is completed, for the whole world, by TVE Internacional. A gala that will be presented by journalists Laura Afonso and Alexis Hernández.
