The Town Hall of adeje begins a process of citizen participation in six nuclei of the municipality through the project Neighborhoods in action, an initiative promoted by Citizen Participation and Coexistence, managed by María Clavijo, with the aim of promoting the creation of meeting and listening spaces with the neighbourhood, associations and neighborhood groups. In the first phase, Armeñime, Callao Salvaje, Fañabé, Las Nieves, Los Olivos-La Postura and Madroñal-Miraverde are involved with the idea of collecting improvement proposals for these territories.
Neighborhoods in action holds meetings during this month in these enclaves. It will convene the citizens, associations and groups of each of these territories with the aim of know their point of view regarding the situation of these neighborhoods. At the same time, it is about gathering proposals for improvement and possible actions that, carried out in a participatory and collaborative way with the neighborhood, allow progress towards more welcoming places and closer to the wishes of their inhabitants.
This project is executed by the Adejero City Council together with the Voltereta Association, Facilitating Ideas. It has started with a call phase in which they contact the representations of the collectives and social and neighborhood entities of these neighborhoodsas well as the general public. The purpose is to inform them about the implementation of the project and invite them to attend the meetings of knowledge and sharing of the different visions that exist on the situation of each one of the territories.
The meetings will be open to the participation of any interested person, what is discussed in them “will serve to jointly build the image of the ideal neighborhood towards which we want to move collectively,” stressed Clavijo Maza. The ideas that are proposed will allow the implementation of specific actions and activities that will improve both coexistence in the neighborhood and its services and infrastructures..
Neighborhoods in action arises with the vocation of having continuity over time to generate a community movement in each of the territories. In this way, the Adeje City Council will be able to find out about the concerns and needs of citizens and have a dialogue tool with them to receive, first-hand, their proposals, ideas and initiatives that will favor responses to their demands in a more efficient.
