The Salvar La Tejita Association has denounced this Monday the discovery of “thousands” of dead fish in the aforementioned sandbank. In a statement, the association details that at least four affected species have been identified and that a report has been submitted to the Marine Environment Observers Network.

He stresses that “just a few hundred meters” from where the dead fish were found “the construction of another complex is underway [turístico]Leeward Suites”.
The environmental organization recalls that it requested information on this project in June 2022 and has not received information on the wastewater treatment proposed for this complex.
Nor is there evidence that the license has been published in the BOE or in any media, both mandatory requirements.
Salvar La Tejita warns that he will not allow the coast of Tenerife to become “the Mar Menor of the Canary Islands” due to “mismanagement” by the mayor of Granadilla de Abona, José Domingo Regalado (Canary Islands Coalition), and that he will take “all legal measures” to protect the coast of the island.
