The Nueva Canarias candidate for mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Odalys Padrón, and number two on the electoral list, Gregorio Negrín, have visited the neighborhoods of Salamanca and Nuevo Obrero together with Román Rodríguez to see first-hand the demands of neighbors and merchants in these areas of the capital.
Román, Odalys and Gregorio were accompanied, during their tour, by the representatives of the Local Committee of Santa Cruz and by the leaders of the neighborhood movements of Salamanca and Nuevo Obrero who told them about the main problems they have to face every day.
“We have had the opportunity to talk with merchants and neighbors, verifying, in addition, that there are too many unsatisfied demands in recent years. Odalys Padrón and Gregorio Negrín have been working on this project for months together with the rest of their team and they are committed so that in May we have the change that Santa Cruz needs”, stated Román Rodríguez.
Gregorio Negrín, for his part, made reference, after the meetings held with the residents, to the importance “of tackling a widespread problem throughout the capital such as cleaning, as well as improving the opening hours and staffing of the social affairs”.
Padrón, meanwhile, indicated that “we also aspire to create a neighborhood police force that acts in areas like these, where there are many problems of insecurity in the shops in the area, where both the neighbor and the small business are supported and helped. In the same way, we need to create more car parks because we are talking about businesses that are close to people’s daily lives. We are going to try to make this city prosper, grow and, above all, that we have the dignified Santa Cruz that we need so much, ”he concluded.
