The girl Ione Díaz Serna, with her fantasy Dreaming with open eyes, by the designer Daniel Pages and representing McDonald’s and El Día-La Opinión de Tenerife, was crowned Children’s Queen of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife of this 2023.

Its court of honor is made up of Paola Bello Navarro, elected first maid of honor with her fantasy Postscript: I love you Carnival, by designer Alexis Santana and representing Grupo El Cine, Abordo Restaurant and San Benito and Santa Cruz Driver Recognition Centers . As second bridesmaid, she was Nayara Plasencia Mesa, with the fantasy of her Remember me, by designer Eduardo Martín and representing El Lajar de Bello Restaurant. Meanwhile, Carla López Alonso was chosen as the third lady, with her fantasy Mi mundo de papel, by designer Noé González and representing Infatilmónica Triqui Traquitos. And the title of fourth bridesmaid went to Iraya Hernández Pérez, with her fantasy Chocolate and Carnival, the best mix to shine!, by designer Ruymán Pérez Jorge and representing the Los Tabajaras troupe.

More than 3,000 people, according to data from the capital’s City Council, followed live on the Fairground the election gala, in which a total of 13 girls participated who showed off on the New York stage some highly elaborate fantasies, full of originality, creativity and a multitude of details. It would be followed by the group led by Loli Pérez, who celebrated her 25 years at the Carnival with a performance full of references to New York, raising her own Statue of Liberty, and which gave way to the second block of candidates. This was followed by a performance by Odali’s choreographic group, in true Broadway style and inspired by The Lion King musical, which gave way to the block of the last four candidates.

While the jury withdrew to deliberate, performances by various choreographic groups followed one another on stage, the Mamelones children’s murga, winner of this year’s contest, a joint theme among all the murguitas, and the Tropicana and Joroperos children’s comparsas also performed, putting the finishing touch is the boy Mario Falero.
At the same time, the votes of the public were also received via SMS, finally casting a total of 5,073 valid votes and 1,876 denied, according to data from the City Council, which highlighted that the participation was higher than in last year’s 2022 edition, which had 4,607. admitted and 1,596 denied.

Santa Cruz already has its 2023 Carnival queen, and the next gala will take place this Wednesday to elect the Queen of the Elderly. Meanwhile, on the 15th the Fairgrounds will host the Gala for the Election of the Carnival Queen and will mark the starting signal for the celebration of Carnival in the street that weekend.
