Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa) and Metrotenerife, transport companies of the Cabildo, have gone from having 70,576 frequent users in December 2022 to 168,306 in January 2023, which means that since the start of free the number of monthly passes sold has multiplied by 2.4.
The First Vice-President and Insular Councilor for Mobility, Enrique Arriaga, clarified that this does not mean that they are all new users of public transport, since many of them may have been sporadic users who had other titles such as the wallet card or the five-dollar voucher. trips, but given the fact that they are free, they have decided to become frequent users through nominative vouchers, that is, those that bear the name and are non-transferable.
Enrique Arriaga explained that there have been more than 73,800 people who have recharged their Canarian resident voucher, almost 81,400 who have used the youth pass, more than 2,500 people with disabilities who have recharged their tickets and nearly 10,600 users who have benefited of the senior subscription
The insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, commented that 86,770 of these recharges have been produced through the Titsa network and 81,536 through the Metropolitano de Tenerife network, which includes the mobile route. To this he added that on January 9, coinciding with the return of students to classes and many workers to their jobs, was when there were more recharges, reaching almost 13,000.
The Cabildo reminds that those who have agreed to free and wish to maintain it, must make the stipulated number of trips to be considered a frequent user, which is set at 15.
