The Fairgrounds will host from tomorrow Monday, January 30, the contest of adult murgas of the present edition of the Carnival. The contest is divided into three phases and a final, and will have the participation of a total of 20 formations.
The murgas responsible for acting in the first phase, which will be held tomorrow from 8:30 p.m. This first phase will begin with the performance of Redoblones, a group awarded with the third prize for Interpretation in the Murgas Infantiles contest. Next, each of the participating groups will perform two songs on stage, together with their presentation and farewell.
The Interpretation jury will be made up of Víctor Brito González, reporter for the Una Hora Menos program on TVC; Esther Gómez Megolla, morning professional at Diez Capital Radio and content creator; Miguel Ángel Batista Rey, film, theater, television actor, clown and acting teacher; Melanie Alexandra Henríquez Mena, narrator and international dubbing actress and presenter; Natanael Padrón Navarro, sociologist and cultural manager; Miriam Caparrós Casals, executive producer of the La Ventana Mágica Association of Performing Arts; Elodiè Marcos Estrella, musician and music producer; Silvia Zorita (Silvia María Zorita Santana), opera singer, and Elisa Sonia Cedrés, professional musician and teacher at the Escuela de Música Moderna de Canarias.
The Presentation jury will be made up of Héctor León León, fashion designer and theater and film costume designer; Bárbara Chávez Méndez, Bachelor of Fine Arts and professor of Graphic Design at the Fernando Estévez School of Art and Superior Design; and Elizabeth Suárez González, Bachelor of Fine Arts.
The presentation of the three phases will be carried out by the journalists Dulce Fleitas and Roberto González. Canarian Television will broadcast live both the three phases and the final of the Murgas del Carnaval 2023 contest, which will be held next Friday, February 3, at 8:30 p.m. This final phase will have the participation of the eight best classified murgas in the previous phases.
