The helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands has rescued two injured hikers of varying degrees after suffering a fall in Valle Gran Rey, on the island of La Gomera, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of the 112 of the Canary Islands.
The events occurred this Thursday afternoon on the De Arure to Las Hayas highway in the aforementioned municipality, the place to which the aforementioned GES helicopter moved, after being alerted that two people had fallen while hiking and could not continue the march, so in collaboration with firefighters from Valle Gran Rey, they rescued them.
Subsequently, the personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated a 76-year-old man who, at the initial moment of assistance, presented moderate head trauma and hypothermia, while the woman who accompanied him had trauma. in the lower limb of a mild nature, for which both were transferred by ambulance from the SUC to the Hospital Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
Members of CECOPIN, as well as Civil Protection, agents of the Local Police and the Civil Guard also collaborated in the resolution of the incident.
