SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 27 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Municipal Cooperation and Housing area, will collaborate with the Garachico City Council in the project to improve the sanitation network in Caleta de Interián and its surroundings.

This was announced by the councilor for the area, Zebenzuí Chinea, who held a meeting with the mayor of the municipality, José Heriberto González, to address the content of the planned works.

Zebenzuí Chinea indicated that “the action will focus on renewing and expanding the sanitation network, to solve the deficiencies in these public infrastructures that the residents of the area have been complaining about for years.”

The works are part of the Insular Municipal Cooperation Plan 2018-2021.

For its development, the island manager explained that there is a base bidding budget of 1,229,280 euros, an item of which the Cabildo will finance 90% (1,106,352 euros) and the City Council, for its part, 10%. remaining (122,928 euros).

The mayor, José Heriberto González, highlighted, for his part, that the project has all the favorable reports and it is expected that it can go out to public bidding this year and thanked “the collaboration received by the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, and the Municipal Cooperation area, which has gone beyond mere cooperation plans”.

He highlighted, in this sense, “the new help lines promoted by the Cabildo, such as those for priority works, playgrounds and to relieve traffic congestion in historical complexes.”

In his opinion, “the two municipal cemeteries are being conditioned, the children’s parks will be improved and parking lots will be built in the municipal historic center.”

González also added that “these are necessary actions for the well-being of the population, which without the financial aid of the Cabildo, small town halls, with fewer inhabitants, would hardly have been able to cope.”

In the meeting held with the mayor, Zebenzuí Chinea advanced the projects planned to be carried out in Garachico within the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2022-2025.

Within the framework of this plan, he pointed out that the improvement of the sanitation network in areas in the vicinity of the municipal center will be promoted, for which an item of 1,394,152 euros has been budgeted, to be financed 90% by the Cabildo (1,254,736 euros) and 10% by the town hall (139,415 euros).

He also announced that this plan includes the resurfacing of several public roads in the municipality, “works that have been budgeted at 348,538 euros, the Cabildo will contribute 313,684 euros and the city council 34,853 euros.”
