Quirónsalud Tenerife promotes its Gynecology service and promotes cancer treatment

The Hospital Quirónsalud Tenerife boost your service Gynecology and Obstetrics to become a benchmark in the Islands with a team of eight specialists led by Dr. José Antonio Pérez Álvarez and with the addition to its portfolio of cancer treatment services and gynecological robotic surgery, among other benefits.

As explained by the Hospital, the medical team made up of Dr. Francisco Montes de Oca, Dr. Daniel García Rodríguez, Dr. Cristina Pérez Suárez, Dr. Rosa Cristina Ramos Galindo and Dr. Michael Theis, join the Quirónsalud Gynecology service Tenerife, in addition to Dr. Pérez Álvarez, the specialists Beatriz Contreras González and Alfonso Ángel Quesada López.

Dr. Pérez Álvarez explains that one of his main objectives is to maintain the quality of care of this service so that it is a reference, both for women in Tenerife and for those of the entire Canary Islands. “We want to offer a comprehensive gynecological service,” the specialist points out, so “in addition to having a routine gynecological check-up unit, we will have a high-resolution ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis unit, an endometriosis diagnosis and treatment unit, and a lower genital tract pathology unit”.

Quirónsalud Tenerife will also promote the creation of a working group on minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery, a pioneer on the island; as well as the start-up of a treatment service for malignant peritoneal disease, with cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic chemotherapy.

Robot-assisted surgery is especially indicated for the surgical treatment of gynecological processes, since it is necessary to intervene in an anatomical area that is difficult to access, such as the female pelvis, where multiple structures (uterus, ovaries, bladder, and rectum) converge. It is in this type of surgery, when precision and safety are crucial, where the Da Vinci system acquires special relevance as it facilitates access to them, reducing risks and improving the patient’s recovery process, with less pain, fewer scars and with excellent clinical results.
