The surroundings of the Auditorio de Tenerife hosted on Friday night the opening ceremony and the draw for candidates for queen of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2023 in its three modalities. The evening was starred by the 36 applicants, who knew their order of participation through the draw that took place during the course of the show.
Emilia González was in charge of conducting this first date of the Carnival of the capital, in which she also highlighted the performance of the Tenerife artist Jadel, interpreter of ‘Suave’, the official song of this edition, on the red carpet of a stage inspired in the most representative elements of New York, the theme of this edition. The dance groups of the chicharrero Carnival comparsas also took part.
Directed by Enrique Camacho, the opening ceremony of the Santa Cruz Carnival was broadcast live on Canarian Television for the entire Archipelago and was attended by 800 spectators. During the development of the show, the five presenters of the Children’s Gala were also met, who were selected from more than twenty boys and girls, in the casting held last Wednesday, January 11.
The order in which the candidates for Carnival queens will parade is as follows: Adult Queen, Andrea Nazco Leroy, with the fantasy ‘Illuminame’, designed by Jonathan Suárez and representing Inmobiliaria Casas Ideales; Mayte Gutiérrez Febles, with the fantasy ‘Flor de Luna’, designed by Cavi Lladó and representing Bonnet Suministros y Maquinarias SL.; Gabriela Luis González, with the fantasy ‘I Love You’, designed by RP Diseño and representing Los Chinchosos murga and the Centenero Neighborhood Association.
