The Tenerife delegation at Fitur, which opened its doors yesterday in Madrid, has held the first meetings at the fair, in which the operators highlight the leadership of the Tenerife destination, marked by the increase in demand, as well as the commitment of all the airlines on the island, which confirms the good expectations for 2023.
The president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, explained that “we have met today with different national and international tour operators, including Iberia Express, Air Europa, Ávoris, United Airlines, TAP Portugal or Jet2, and we have collected good prospects, both in anticipation of seats as well as passengers”, indicated Martín. In addition, he added that “the increase in demand has been constant, and calm for the next summer season is the dominant tone if we refer to the national sector. In relation to the international market, tour operators such as Jet2, our first client, and the first operator with Tenerife, reiterate the optimism that they already transferred us in the last World Travel Market”.
Martín also specified that “the strategy undertaken by Tenerife, driven by the firm commitment to digitization and sustainability, is yielding results. This is what the tourist agents also transmit to us, who inform us that travelers increasingly give more importance to these aspects when choosing their holiday destination”.
The insular director of Tourism, Laura Castro, and the CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, David Pérez, also participate in Fitur. Adding the meetings held yesterday, at the close of the fair, the Tenerife delegation will have held more than twenty meetings with international and national tour operators at Fitur 2023. From airlines and tour operators such as TAP Portugal, Vueling, United Airlines, Swiss, Volotea or Edelweiss-Zurich, to the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV), the CEAV of Andalusia and the DIT Gestión group.
