The Canary Islands Green Offices serve close to 50,000 users in 2022

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Green Offices of the Canary Islands have met the information demands of almost 50,000 people, companies and administrations throughout the Archipelago during the year 2022, both in person, by telephone and by email.

The Minister of Ecological Transition, the Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning, José Antonio Valbuena, wanted to recall that it is a network of delegations that was finally implemented on all the islands during the first part of last year and that has been consolidated as a reference for citizens in everything related to information and personalized advice on subsidies and aid for the ecological and energy transition.

Valbuena highlighted that despite the short time they have been in operation, “not only has their activity increased by more than 700% during 2022, but also the Court of Accounts itself has recommended that these offices and their knowledge of European funds be optimized by transferring this model to other departments of the Government of the Canary Islands”.

Regarding the main procedures requested by users during the last year, the 13,322 linked to subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles and charging stations (MOVES II and III) and Aid for Self-consumption and Storage for the installation of photovoltaic panels stand out. with 12,084 users served.

Among the services provided by the Green Offices of the Canary Islands on the eight islands, there are also more than 5,000 communications related to aid for energy efficiency both for public infrastructures (1,262) and for residential buildings (1,995), for SMEs and large companies in the industrial sector (1,009) and for the sustainability of housing (807).

Added to this are 2,164 procedures related to the Circular Economy subsidy and support for the implementation of the waste regulations and another 2,147 framed within the expressions of interest for business models and unique projects, plus the 1,716 queries related to the subsidy for the rehabilitation of public buildings (PIREP) and the 1,043 actions developed within the thematic area of ​​Circular Economy.

Likewise, 467 actions related to the execution of the Building Energy Rehabilitation Program (PREE) and another 472 inquiries managed within the DUS 5000 Program of aid for investments in unique clean energy projects have been recorded.

Other calls in which work has been carried out successfully are Thermal Renewable Energies, where attention has been paid to 1,978 users; 1,502 communications sent in the call for H2Pioneers and Renewable Hydrogen grants and 1,863 more linked to the European LIFE Funds to which are added the 1,159 users served within the framework of the call for energy efficiency actions on farms.

Finally, other types of questions were also carried out, such as the 488 informative actions linked to the Pact of Mayors for Climate and Energy, the 71 of the call for research in National Parks and the 66 attentions carried out within the framework of aid for the restoration of river ecosystems.

The 453 communication actions of all kinds aimed at the creation of a Canary Islands Network of Environmental Volunteering that is advancing at a good pace deserve a special mention.

GREEN OFFICES TIMELINE

The Green Offices of the Canary Islands were born in November 2020 with the aim of providing a service to the citizens, companies, entities and public administrations of the eight islands so that they can access personalized information on aid, subsidies, strategies and all kinds of initiatives that can be accepted to take an active part in the ecological transition and the fight against climate change.
