SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 19 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Autonomous Organization for Fiestas and Recreational Activities (OAFAR), celebrates the opening ceremony of Carnival 2023 this Friday in the surroundings of the Tenerife Auditorium.

The event will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be attended by the 36 aspiring queens in their three modalities -children, seniors and adults-, who will know their order of participation through the draw that will take place during the show.

Emilia González will be in charge of conducting this first date of the Carnival dedicated to the city of New York, which will have the intervention of the dance groups of the chicharrero Carnival comparsas.

The Tenerife artist Jadel, interpreter of Suave, the official song of this edition, will perform on the red carpet on a stage inspired by the most representative elements of the North American metropolis.

During the development of the show, the five presenters of the Children’s Gala will also be known, who were selected from more than twenty boys and girls, in the casting held last Wednesday, January 11.

The inaugural show of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be under the direction of Enrique Camacho, and will be broadcast live through Televisión Canaria for the entire Archipelago.
