The mayoress of Candelaria, Mari Brito, and the councilor for Commerce and Tourism, María del Carmen Clemente, presented, together with restaurateurs and producers from the Local Product Club, the gastronomic proposal that the municipality will bring to Madrid Fusión, for the first time, from 23 to 25 of this month.
“We have joined the initiative with the aim of highlighting the local product, showing the richness of Candelaria’s gastronomy,” said the mayoress, who highlighted the work of the restaurateurs and producers who have been part of the Local Product Club since 2020, with the aim of positioning Candelaria as a gastronomic and sustainable destination.
María del Carmen Clemente recalls that the Local Product Club is a project of the Consistory aimed at promoting local, agricultural, commercial and economic development of the municipality, while promoting traditional culinary preparations.
There are six restaurateurs and producers from the Local Product Club who will present their gastronomic samples at the Cabildo de Tenerife stand. In the restoration section there will be: Palmelita, La Dársena Restaurant and La Casona Restaurant, as well as the Local Production Market, Cunygan Cheeses, El Rebusco Winery and Acoroma Igueste de Candelaria Honey.
In addition, Candelaria’s participation will be completed with the presence of the IES Punta Larga Cooking and Gastronomy Training Cycle with the participation of a teacher and two students and the Bollullo Beach restaurant that is invited by Turismo de Tenerife.
The tastings that will be prepared will be: Rolls Canarios, Mojo Verde, Mojo Picón or Mojo Rojo, Cherne Casserole at Point of Salt, Watercress Stew, Escaldón de Gofio, Sweet Potato with Almogrote Sala, Cherne with onion, Ropa Vieja and Pella de Gofio .
