SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Highways area, has started the construction of the roundabout at the junction of the TF-217 highway and its access road with the TF-5 highway, in the municipality of La Victoria. The works that will begin today Tuesday will have an estimated duration of five months.
The First Vice President and Island Councilor for Highways, Enrique Arriaga, explained that the objective of this action “is to speed up one of the main access points to the municipality, through which an average of 3,530 vehicles circulate every day.”
In addition, Arriaga stressed that it is “an area where both pedestrians and vehicles attend and that these works will not only improve circulation, but will also increase road safety.”
The insular director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, indicated that at this point “serious traffic jams occur and for this reason we have been working with the City Council for some time to design this roundabout that will mean a significant improvement for circulation.”
This work will provide La Victoria with a circular roundabout of 30 meters in external diameter with three branches, an infrastructure similar to those that the Cabildo de Tenerife is executing in collaboration with different town halls in the region to increase the comfort and capacity of the road island TF-217.
