The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has reported this Tuesday that between December 2 and January 8 the city registered a total of 7,809,705 vehicle movements, of which 3,817,313 circulated in the direction entering the city and 3,992,392, output.
These data are collected through a system of electromagnetic loops that exist on the main roads of the capital of Santa Cruz and that are automatically sent to the traffic control room, where passage times and transit times are also controlled and modified. preferences through the different traffic light nodes of the city.
The average daily movement of vehicles stood at 205,518 vehicles during the Christmas period established in the 38 days analysed.
It was above that average last Wednesday, December 21, which was the day with the highest concentration of vehicles in the capital of Tenerife, reaching the figure of 252,462 car movements.
Regarding other significant dates, the City Council points to January 5, the date of celebration of the eve of the Three Kings in which the royal reception act at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium and the subsequent Parade, with 235,579 vehicles, adding up the tickets and out of town.
On December 24, that figure remained at a total of 173,015 vehicles and on the 31st of the same month, at 168,997 movements.
The entry points analyzed were Avenida Tres de Mayo, through the area of the municipal swimming pool in the direction of Rambla de Santa Cruz; Angel Romero avenue; the Rosario road; access from the San Andrés highway; also by Manuel Hermoso Rojas avenue from the North highway (TF-5); the Áurea Díaz Flores road and Constitución avenue from the South highway (TF-1).
By level of traffic density, the most complex days in this regard were December 21 (124,487 vehicles); on December 2 (123,531) and on the 16th of the same month (123,311).
On the other hand, the measurements of the departures that were reached were on December 23 (128,190); on Friday the 16th of that month (127,775) and on Thursday the 22nd (127,511).
The day on which fewer vehicles entered or left Santa Cruz de Tenerife was Sunday, December 25, Christmas Day, adding up to a total of 131,435 vehicle movements between the two concepts, 51.6% in the direction of leaving the city.
