The Asociation save la tejita has registered a complaint this Monday with the Canary Islands Agency for the Protection of the Natural Environment against the Viqueira Group for apparently carrying out works in an area affected by the order to stop the La Tejita hotel.
The complaint is supported by a video recorded on January 13 in which there are images of the works, Salvar La Tejita said in a statement.
It adds that on May 7, 2021, the Canarian Agency for the Protection of the Natural Environment notified the builder of the cessation of all activities within the land affected by the Easement Zone for the Protection of the Maritime-Terrestrial Public Domain.
Just a few weeks later, the builder was penalized for continuing to work in this area, adds Salvar La Tejita, who has appealed the license for the construction of the hotel “due to multiple irregularities”, for which reason he is awaiting the corresponding judicial hearing. .
The license to build a hotel on the aforementioned beach was authorized by the Granadilla de Abona City Council, which refuses to retract or demand a modification of the project since the review of the protection easement, which has modified the permitted construction area within the plot, adds the environmental association.
