The candidate for the Presidency of the Cabildo puts “zero” to social policy and claims the BUS-VAO lane and promote public transport to solve mobility
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The candidate of the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) for the Presidency of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, has postulated this Monday as the “alternative” to a Government of Pedro Martín (PSOE) “without a model for Tenerife” and that leaves the island as “a wasteland” after a mandate marked by the instability of his government alliance with Cs and Sí Podemos.
In a breakfast with the media in which she has been accompanied by the nationalist spokesman in the Cabildo, Carlos Alonso, she has indicated that she is running for the elections “with the will to win” and without “red lines” for future pacts given who leads a formation characterized by its “willingness to dialogue”. “We are going to talk to everyone,” she said.
He has said that the island is at “a critical moment” and needs a more “balanced” project that does not just involve “distributing money among the municipalities” and being “determined to destroy more than to advance.”
In his opinion, Martín has made a “premeditated policy to leave Tenerife in the tail”, either “not to bother, due to ignorance or not to make a mistake if it stops”.
He has charged against the “loss of weight” of the Cabildo in the regional context, with an investment of European funds “that is not reaching” the citizens and lack of resources for employment and investment that is increasing precariousness and poverty on the island .
Dávila has promised to “recover” the Ansina program and strengthen the social area in the face of the “extremely serious” situation of the IASS and the lack of social security positions, which has doubled so far in his mandate and without a new one having been built to date. . “The Government has a zero, suspends all social policies,” he explained.
He has also pointed out that mobility is one of the “great challenges” of the island and for this reason he claims the BUS-VAO lane from Santa Cruz to La Orotava — the tender for the drafting of the project was stopped despite the fact that there was an institutional agreement of the Plenary–.
“It was premeditated paralyzed”, he commented, while he is not clear about the final position of the PSOE on the regional trains since “the only thing” that he agreed with the PP in the budget debate was to undertake two feasibility studies .
Dávila has also pointed out that public transport must continue to be promoted despite the fact that the PSOE has put “sticks in the wheels” for free transportation and has stressed that services must continue to be “decentralized” to avoid trips to the metropolitan area.
ALONSO: MARTÍN “HAS GET OUT OF THE MIDDLE” BEFORE THE PROBLEMS
Carlos Alonso has highlighted the “weakness” and “lack of cohesion” of the insular government, accelerated after the breakdown of the agreement with Sí Podemos, which has led the Cabildo to a “paralysis” and lack of investment, which is demonstrated in the fact that this year For example, more than 300 million have stopped being executed -still a provisional figure because the year has not ended-, which are added to the slightly more than 170 million of 2020 and 2021.
He has indicated that Martín “has gotten out of the way” to solve the problems of the island, especially in social matters, with a management that has been an “absolute zero”, without developing the socio-sanitary infrastructure plan, with the abandonment of the program Ansina or the return of “a lot of money” in gender violence and dependency.
Regarding the situation of the roads, he believes that the key to mobility passes through the BUS-HOV lane and although he believes that the La Laguna ring road “is not going to solve the problem”, according to technical studies, a priori, they are not going to oppose . “If they want to do it, they do it,” he said.
Like Dávila, he has missed an “insular model” given that, among other things, the second schedule of the MEDI has not been developed and in the distribution of investments Santa Cruz de Tenerife is left “marginalized”.
He has also said that the Cabildo has stopped leading “innovative projects” in the Canary Islands when the corporation “is an asset” for the social and economic development of the island, at the same time that he has reproached the Government for “never” wanting to negotiate agreements or programs with CC.
Alonso, who has guaranteed that he will not go on electoral lists next May, has highlighted Dávila that she is a great candidate who “kicks the island a lot” for her work as secretary of the CC Organization and knows the needs of the people , also stressing that it is “good” that a woman access the presidency of the Cabildo for the first time.
