It should have started on January 7th after finishing the Tenerife Children’s Park, but, finally, it will be tomorrow when the assembly of the stage of Carnival 2023 at the Fairgrounds.
Yesterday, the Councilor for Fiestas de Santa Cruz, Alfonso Cabello, managed to unlock the contracts that allow the assembly of the stage floor and the vertical structures that accompany it. The contract for the fireproof curtains would still be missing, which will be signed next week, and which, as it is the last thing to be placed, allows for a little more time.
Now, the companies are working against the clock to arrive on time for the first of the contests, that of the children’s murgas, which starts at the Fairgrounds on the 26th. In this week that ends, the organization has taken the opportunity to install the columns of lights and sound that go on the roof of the Palacio de Congresos, and, as of today, it will be completed with the rest of the structures. Fiestas was forced to divide a structure contract, which had initially been void, and which was awarded to the Alkur company through a negotiation without publicity, an award that had to be annulled when contested by another of the companies to which it was awarded. had invited to participate. Faced with the real risk of not arriving on time for that first contest, it was decided to cancel and divide the contracts among those who are in charge of the metal structure, the wood, and the fire-retardant fabrics that cover the sides of the scenery.
In any case, from Fiestas it is ensured that the structure will be ready in a timely manner after overcoming administrative setbacks.
Tickets
Regarding the sale of tickets for the different contests and galas, from Fiestas it is indicated that it will be next week when it is indicated what day the tickets go on sale. At the moment an agreement has been closed with a ticket sales company, and now it is time to organize the way in which they will be put up for sale, as well as the capacity of each of the events that are going to be held at the Fairground .
The figures are expected to be similar to those of the summer Carnival, when 4,458 tickets for the Queen’s Election Gala were put on sale; 5,030 seats for the adult murgas phases, and 5,552 for the adult murgas final. In this last act, the sale of some 1,000 standing tickets was incorporated, an innovation that will also be repeated this year.
