Since in October of last year the councilor of the Cabildo de Tenerife Maria Jose Belda announced his departure from Podemos by May 2023, he assures that “he has been explicitly punished and that has ended up destroying a political group that until now had made a great difference”, but of which he now denounces the “political violence” that has She has been living after being fired “without justifications that argue that my work as the group’s spokesperson is contrary to its political interests,” she declares.

Belda clarifies that “she will not allow” her to be displaced for working, for complying with a program and for having left a group within the Cabildo in a good place.

“I am not going to allow myself to be treated as if I had done something that went against the principles that I defend and allow all the work that has been done under my spokesperson to be taken from me,” he insists, while recalling that 732 votes from the primaries of 2019 supported his candidacy as head of the Cabildo list. It is for this reason that from now on she will remain as a non-attached “representing those who voted for her”.
