The Güímar City Council, after a long process of administrative failures and six years of waiting, will have a new urban waste collection and street cleaning service this year, after yesterday’s approval of the tender specifications, which includes a period of eight years of validity, extendable, and an annual cost of 2.5 million euros, 250% more than the current one, with double the staff and material resources.
The approval of the statement had the nine votes of the Government group (PSOE and CC), including that of the socialist Beatriz Perdomo, who had to intervene electronically when she was on medical leave, not without raising doubts about whether her vote was fit or not, to which the mayor, Gustavo Pérez, exclaimed: “If you have doubts, I recommend that you do not trust anyone.”
He finally voted, after receiving valid confirmation from the municipal secretary. Perdomo’s vote was decisive, because the entire opposition (PP, Cs and IU-Sí se puede) voted against, after an intense debate.
