The City Council of Candelaria awarded for 159,430 euros the drafting of the project for the indoor pool that will be located on Rambla Los Menceyes, specifically in the plot located in front of the pavilion of the CEIP of Punta Larga. It is worth noting the 59 parking spaces designed on one of the floors of the future construction.
“We continue taking steps to build the Candelaria we want,” says the mayoress, Mari Brito. One of them is this award “after the setback caused by the first tender, from which we had to give up,” she adds. Brito assesses: “We started a new path with this award that will allow us to have the project in five months.” The councilor shows her “satisfaction with this milestone that is, without a doubt, a reason for immense joy for all the candlestick holders.”
The project contemplates two swimming pools – multi-purpose and teaching –, a gym, changing rooms and the aforementioned parking lot with capacity for 59 vehicles, to which must be added the outdoor spaces. All this with a final budget that is estimated to be greater than 5 million euros.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Reinaldo Triviño, points out that the proposal details that the pool area is conceived as an open space with two pools, one for swimming 25 x 12.5 meters and another for teaching 10 x 12.5.
The upper floor will be specifically intended for the cardio-weight training area with fixed equipment and activity rooms aimed at different audiences.
Just ten days ago, the Candelaria City Council awarded another fundamental contract for the future urban development of the municipality for an amount of 164,815 euros: the drafting of the execution project for the municipal Auditorium that will also be located on Rambla Los Menceyes, where the current station is located. of buses
Great news for culture and music that the municipal bands, Las Candelas and Nueva Banda de Igueste, received directly from the mayoress, Mari Brito, during a joint concert last December.
This building supposes to cover a historical demand of the collectives of the municipality, especially of the musical groups that require a space according to their characteristics. “A project pursued and that we hope will soon come true,” stressed the mayoress.
