Two violent robberies in just 24 hours have set off alarm bells in the municipality of Guía de Isora. If last Saturday an individual robbed a house and viciously attacked one of its owners, 52, causing a broken wrist, a fractured arm and a gash in the head, the next day, two men attacked the owner of a restaurant, in Chiguergue, when he was preparing to leave the premises with the day’s collection. “They put a gun to my temple and one of them said shoot him, shoot him,” the victim explained to DIARIO DE AVISOS.

Eduardo had just gotten into his car when the two hooded men, one on each side, pounced on the car. He tried to put the lock, but one of them managed to open the door. “He began to pull the bag and I defended myself by punching him, but the one from the other door put the gun to my head and began to hit me with it until he broke a part of my jaw, while I tried to move it away. At that moment, when the one who was trying to rip off my bag, he began to yell: “Shoot him, shoot him.” I didn’t know if it was true or false, but if he had shot, he could have killed his partner, ”explained the victim of the robbery.

The criminals, between 20 and 30 years old and 1.70 meters tall, according to the explanation provided by the victim, managed to break the bag and fled with the car keys. A restaurant employee, who was preparing to close the premises, came out after them and threw a stone at them, which caused a struggle that caused him to break his finger after receiving a kick and falling to the ground, according to Eduardo. Finally, the assailants got into a dark car and left the place.

Eduardo, a well-known and appreciated Venezuelan entrepreneur in the area, assures that they were “stalking” him and believes that the criminal who carried the gun could know him: “He never opened his mouth and the other had a South American accent.” In addition to the jaw injury, the victim suffered an episode of hypertension, as verified by the medical team displaced in an ambulance.

farm house

Meanwhile, the seriously injured woman slowly evolves in the assault on the Alcalá farm housein the coastal area of the municipality of Guía de Isora, after being brutally attacked by an individual who was surprised at dawn after jumping over the wall that surrounds the farm.

The 85-year-old mother of the woman, who was sleeping in the house at the time, found her daughter lying on the ground and surrounded by blood. Her own wound managed to dial her brother’s phone and her mother alerted her to what had just happened. The Civil Guard is already working on “some clue” to locate the perpetrator of the attack, who fled with the money that the family kept in the house.

The victim will undergo surgery this week for a broken arm, family sources confirmed to this newspaper.

Canarian Coalition, the main opposition party in Guía de Isora, regretted yesterday through a statement that the staffing of the Civil Guard and the Local Police have not increased. “We wonder what has to happen in the municipality so that the necessary resources are put in place to improve security,” asks the nationalist formation, which regrets that in Guía de Isora “we only have 16 local police officers when we should have 41.”
