The President of the Council of TenerifePedro Martín, has announced this Tuesday the reinforcement of work in the La Campana industrial estate, in El Rosario, doubling the shifts and extending the hours from Monday to Sunday so that they can be completed as soon as possible.
The island president has made this announcement during a visit he made, together with a group of companies from the industrial estate, to one of the areas in which the first works to improve the facilities of the industrial estate and the construction of rainwater facilities are being carried out. .
These works have a total investment of 13 million euros, 90% financed by the Cabildo de Tenerife, 9% by businessmen and businesswomen and 1 percent by the City Council, the island corporation has detailed in a release.
Pedro Martín emphasized the situation of deterioration and abandonment that the La Campana industrial estate has been dragging for many years and that with these works “we hope to be able to solve once and for all, fulfilling one of the objectives that we set ourselves in this mandate and giving a definitive boost to the activity of the more than 300 companies that operate in the area”.
Martín recalled that since the arrival of the current government team, the necessary steps to solve this situation began to be taken and the corresponding work began on December 15.
Regarding the planning of the works, he assured that they will be carried out in a coordinated manner with the companies of the industrial estate, so that in no case do they hinder the normal development of their activity, while he proposed to the businessmen to hold periodic meetings to give them a detailed account of the works.
The president of the polygon’s conservative entity, Facundo García, highlighted “the dialogue” that the insular government maintains with businessmen in the area and thanked the president for his proposal to be able to monitor the work.
The president added that this project joins other notable investments of the Cabildo de Tenerife to respond to serious problems that the industrial estate was experiencing.
“La Campana is the first industrial estate in Canary Islands in having its own treatment plant to treat its wastewater thanks to the insular investment of 1.5 million euros that we have made in this mandate, with which a solution to a historical municipal problem has been found”, said Pedro Martín.
He also highlighted the investment to improve rainwater collection and prevent water runoff from reaching the highway in the event of rain.
The island councilor of EmploymentSocioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, explained that the execution of the works entails the hiring of a team of 20 people, who will be divided into two shifts so that the works can be kept active seven days a week. .
He added that before starting the work, road signage, both horizontal and vertical, and signage have been reinforced, as well as manhole covers and manhole covers on the road, which were dangerous for vehicle traffic.
He added that the list of planned works includes improvements to sanitation facilities, public lighting, telecommunications, low and medium voltage facilities, as well as asphalting and paving throughout the area.
The renovation of the water supply and fire fighting network is also contemplated, in which many points are in a poor state, which causes continuous water leaks.
In addition, a pressure reducing valve will be placed to avoid overpressure in some areas of the pipeline.
The visit was also attended by the CEO of Gestur, Juan Miguel Martín Zarza; and the project manager, Manuel Galván, along with other business representatives from the area and from the winning joint venture.
