The six workers of the cleaning service Early Childhood and Primary Education Center (CEIP) Miguel de Cervantesin The tankhave lost their jobs at the educational center, where they provided services through an external company, in some cases for 23 years. The affected workers regret that “they have left us stranded”an appreciation that the tanker government (PSOE) does not share, which does hope to find a solution that saves their jobs through a new tender with subrogation of all dismissed staff.

Those affected report that “until December 23, 2022 we worked in the CEIP Miguel de Cervantesbut that day we were informed that we would stop doing it from the 31st». Faced with this situation, they consider that «the administrations have passed the ball to each other, leaving us stranded after working at the school for many years. neither the city council nor the Ministry of Education They have taken care of this situation.”

On December 28 they held a meeting with the mayoress of El Tanque, Esther Morales (PSOE), and from that meeting they only draw the conclusion that “they ignored us without giving us many explanations.” About the Ministry of Educationaffirm that “they only told us that the powers in cleaning the center passed to the town hall.”

The tanker City Council will assume the service temporarily with its own personnel

Esther Morales denies that the Consistory has ignored these workers and stresses that they have held “various meetings with them, with the presence of the secretary to legally advise all parties, in order to agree on the procedure to follow.”

“The Ministry of Educationafter providing the cleaning service of the educational center for more than a decade, through an external company, informed the council that it was stopping providing the service, making it clear that they had not had a contract for more than two years» , as Morales explains to EL DÍA.

Mayor Esther Morales says that in the next tender the new company will be asked to hire these workers

“What we agreed, also in the presence of a trade union representative, is that the tanker City Council will start a public bidding process in which the winning company will be forced to subrogate the personnel. While that materializes, the consistory will be in charge of the cleaning tasks with own staff», details Morales.

The mayoress emphasizes that “the affected personnel depended on an external company, which has fired them. There is jurisprudence that shows that without attending to the principles of merit, capacity and publicity, one cannot become part of the public administration staff, for this reason The proposed solution is a tender for another external company to assume the service, having to subrogate the workers, respecting their categories and seniority».

Morales emphasizes that “the City Hall of El Tanque It has not stopped considering all possible legal alternatives to solve this situation, but it will have to be done while strictly respecting all legal processes. The regional Ministry of Education distances itself from the controversy and limits itself to remembering that “The cleaning of the CEIPs and the CEOs corresponds to the municipalities, and it is the winning company that has a contractual relationship with the workers”.
