The Candelaria Town Hall recently awarded the drafting of the draft indoor swimming pool which will be located in the boulevard Los Menceyes on the plot in front of the Punta Larga CEIP pavilion.
This project comes to replace the one that was approved in May 2015 to develop on the same plot and whose project could not be developed, after concession of the work to a UTE, when it was annulled by the Justice after the challenge of the contest by another company that competed in the award. After a long judicial period, the contest and the plot were unblocked and it is now the City hall the one that is putting out to tender this much-needed installation for a municipality of almost 30,000 people who do not have any public swimming pool, after the closure of the La Hornilla swimming pool when Costas refused to renew the administrative concession.
“We continue taking steps to build the Candelaria we want and one of them is the award of the drafting of the Indoor Pool project, which after the handicaps that the first tender entailed, from which we had to give up, we began a new path with this adjudication that will allow us to have the project in 5 months” points out the mayoress, Mari Brito, who expresses her satisfaction for this milestone that is a reason for joy for all the candleholders.

The project that was awarded the award includes two swimming pools (multipurpose pool and teaching pool), a gym, changing rooms and a parking lot with capacity for 59 vehicles, to which must be added the outdoor spaces. All this with a final budget that is estimated to be greater than 5 million euros.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Reinaldo Triviño, points out that the amount of the drafting of the project amounts to 159,430 euros. Regarding the project, the proposal details that the pool area is conceived as an open space and two swimming pools, a swimming pool of 25.00 x 12.50 meters and a teaching pool of 10.25 x 12.50 meters
The upper floor is specifically intended for the cardio-weight training area with fixed equipment and directed activity rooms without fixed equipment.
