The raffle for the order of the candidates for Carnival Queen of Santa Cruz has gone from being a simple act announcing the start of the party to taking shape, over time, as a true inaugural Carnival Gala. This presence is what the Autonomous Organization for Festivals and Recreational Activities (Oafar) wants to give to the act that will take place on January 20 in the surroundings of the Santa Cruz Auditorium. A space in which the stairs of the building and the square to the Black Castle will be used to locate the stage and public, up to a thousand people, to welcome Welcome to the most anticipated Carnival. The New York skyline is one of the props that will be placed on the stage, while the stairs will provide the necessary game for the 41 participants who aspire to become Queen of the party to shine at their official presentation.
“On the 20th, at 8:00 p.m., we have an appointment with the 41 candidates, between the Black Castle and the Auditorium,” Cabello details. “We played with the stairs as a central stage, recalling an important series that was recorded in that area, Fundation, for Apple TV, a space that was used on several occasions during filming and that appears in different episodes of the series” , explains the mayor of Fiestas, who points out that, as far as scenery is concerned, “the black floor, in contrast to the white of the Auditorium, we believe that it can give a lot of play”.
Although the initial forecast is that more than 700 people can attend as a public, Cabello confirms that work is being done so that this capacity reaches 1,000 people, giving this inaugural act a grand gala category.
The forecasts that they handle from the Fiestas area is that this Carnival is going to be one of the most massive, so “we are working on a Carnival sized to that forecast that we are going to have many people interested in participating in all the acts that we organize ”, points out Cabello.
A forecast that is being endorsed by hotel reservations for the two weekends of street partying, which according to the sector has advanced, assures the also delegate councilor of the Development Society, can yield historical occupancy figures.
