Las Galletas, Mar y Volcán is the title of the exhibition that since last month can be seen at the Marina de Sur facilities, in Las Galletas, along the entire dock of the port. It is a large-format exhibition in the open air, the work of Javier Campos, an expert diver and professional photographer, in which unpublished images of great scenic beauty of the entire coast of Arona are exhibited.
The exhibition, of a permanent nature, aims to publicize the values of the municipality’s coastline and, particularly, Las Galletas. The selection of images allows the visitor to discover details, curiosities, different marine resources, unique geological formations, protected natural areas and assets of cultural interest, which coexist with fishing, diving and tourism.
The objective of the exhibition is to promote a message of environmental awareness aimed at the sports, fishing, educational and tourist fields, which are the profiles of the users and visitors of the port of Las Galletas, through a set of images that reflect the variety of natural and cultural elements of 800 hectares of coastline.
The name chosen for the exhibition of photographs, Las Galletas, Mar y Volcán, responds to the desire to define the potential of a large marine space in which multiple professional activities are carried out together with a terrestrial environment with abundant volcanic manifestations.
Javier Campos, author of the images, has a long career as a disseminator and specialist in the marine environment and his work has been reflected in numerous national and international publications. In addition, he has been part of different work teams in informative and audiovisual editions of the municipality of Arona.
