The PSOE attacks the secretary of Güímar for the disapproval of a mayor

The PSOE de Güímar accuses the secretary of the City Council of preventing the Plenary from annulling the disapproval of the socialist councilor José Miguel Hernández, which occurred in the plenary session held on July 28. Five months later and with the argument that it is a matter that affects her directly, the official was absent from the plenary session at the moment in which the socialist spokesman, Airam Puerta, exposed the initiative by way of urgency. The departure of María Isabel Santos occurs “thus cutting off the possibility that the proposed agreement can be presented, debated and voted on.”

The Güímareros socialists expose in their accounts on social networks their criticism of the highest-ranking official in the Güímar City Council, which the PSOE co-governs with Canarian Coalition having shared the Mayor’s Office its now spokesperson, Airam Puerta, and the nationalist Gustavo Pérez.

Plenary session of July 28

In the plenary session of July 28, the Councilor for Personnel, José Miguel Hernández, was disapproved with the favorable votes of the PP (proposing group) and Raquel Díaz (Cs), with the abstentions of Coalición Canaria (CC), of Councilors Airam Puerta and Beatriz Perdomo (PSOE) and SSP-IU. Only his other two groupmates, Patricia Encinoso and Cándido Gómez, supported him by voting against the Popular Party’s proposal.

The PP requested the “urgent opening” of a file to purify an alleged workplace harassment of the General Secretary of the Corporation and the disapproval of the councilor José Miguel Hernández, to whom he attributed such an attitude.

The open file concluded with the “file of the actions initiated to elucidate the existence of workplace harassment in the terms denounced by the municipal official, María Isabel Santos.” The resolution is based on the fact that “the existence of workplace harassment by the councilor for Personnel against the municipal secretary is not proven.” The document specifies that the regulation of harassment determines that it is “a singular form of external and systematic violation, therefore, neither marginal nor occasional.” That is, “it does not correspond to any of the specific statements included in the letter of complaint of harassment made by the interested party”, the secretary of the Consistory.

arbitrary behavior

The PSOE recalls in its public criticism that in the plenary session of the disapproval of its councilor, “the same municipal secretary who was directly affected by the matter, also on that day, was present at said plenary session in July 2022, making sure that the The motion of the Popular Party was debated and put to the vote and was also present at said vote. However, she was absent from the plenary session in which that agreement was intended to be revoked because “it was not to her liking.”

The guimareros socialists They call attention to this change in criteria and publicly reproach the attitude of the national authorized official, to whom they attribute arbitrary behavior. “And this, with the complicity of the Municipal Group of the Popular Party.”

From the PP in Güímar, its municipal coordinator, Víctor González, has spoken publicly in support of Santos García, assuring that the municipal secretary of the Güímar City Council was not required “in writing” in this matter and that she “resigned to the file.” He also questions that despite this, “they continued to process” such a file, but the action to resign entails the file, says González.
