The average number of Social Security affiliates in the Canary Islands in 2022 reached 875,573 contributors, after gaining 43,654 employed in the year as a whole, which represents an increase of 5.25% compared to the previous year, the Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday. In absolute terms, Madrid led the rise in employment in 2022, followed by Catalonia (+96,649 contributors); Andalusia (+58,369 members); Valencian Community (+52,973) and the Canary Islands (+43,654).
In December, Social Security gained 3,505 contributors in average terms in the Canary Islands, which implies a growth of 0.4% in relation to the previous month.
