The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Fisheries, has published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) the 2023 call for ordinary theoretical exams to obtain nautical qualifications for the Government of pleasure boats.
These exams allow obtaining the titles of Yacht Captain (CY); Yacht Skipper (PY); Pleasure Boat Pattern (PER); and Pattern for Basic Navigation (PNB). The tests will take place from February to October in Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
To participate in obtaining a nautical qualification for the government of recreational boats, the interested party must be 18 years of age at the time they take the theoretical tests to obtain these.
Minors who have reached the age of 16 at the time of the tests, may participate in the exams to obtain the title of skipper for basic navigation, for which registration must be attached at the time of submission of the application. written consent of the parents or legal guardians of the minor accompanied by the identity document.
Applications must be submitted accompanied by a photocopy of the DNI, residence card or passport, in force, of the interested party, or express consent to the Public Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands to collect the identity data of the interested party.
The resolution establishes the following distribution of calls by place and date of celebration, as well as the registration period for each of them: in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, to obtain PER and GNP degrees, on March 18. Registration: from February 10 to February 20; in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, to obtain PER and GNP titles, on May 20. Registration: from April 10 to April 20; in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, to obtain the PY degree, on July 8. Registration: from May 29 to June 8; in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, to obtain PER and GNP titles, on October 21. Registration: from September 12 to September 21; in Tenerife, to obtain CY and PY degrees, on November 11. Registration: from October 2 to October 11.
