Metrotenerife schedules double trams every 10 minutes on Three Kings Eve

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 2 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Metrotenerife will end its plan for special Christmas services with the reinforcement for Three Kings Eve of Line 1, which will operate with double trams offering a frequency of 10 minutes until 10:00 p.m. From that moment until 02:00, the frequency will be 12 minutes to finish, the rest of the night, with services every half hour.

The first vice president of the Cabildo and president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, has indicated that the eve of the Three Wise Men is the day on which they expect more trips to and within the metropolitan area, and since the tram runs through the main commercial and leisure activities in Santa Cruz and La Laguna, have increased their transport offer, both in timetables and frequencies and in vehicles in service. “In this way, we will all be able to move in a sustainable, punctual, efficient and responsible manner,” he stressed.

During Three Kings Eve, the double trams of Line 1 will be running every 10 minutes, from 07:00 to 22:00, and then every 12 minutes until 02:00 on Friday, January 6, Three Kings Day. After that, the tram will continue to operate with single units every 30 minutes until 06:00.

As in previous years, Line 1 will have to adapt to the passage of the parade of the Three Kings. For this reason, the Weyler stop will cease to be operational from 6:00 p.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m., after the parade has passed through this area and once the Santa Cruz Local Police authorizes the resumption of service. During this cut in Weyler due to the passage of the parade, the double trams will continue to circulate between the Intercambiador-Teatro Guimerá and La Paz-La Trinidad stops.

For its part, Line 2 will circulate on Three Kings Eve every 10 and 12 minutes, mainly, and will end its service at midnight.

On the other hand, on Three Kings Day the tram will remain in service with single units and will use the usual frequencies on public holidays, which are 12 minutes on Line 1 and 15 minutes on Line 2 most of the day.

Metrotenerife reminds that the use of a mask is mandatory on board the trams. Users can find out about the tram service on the Metrotenerife website, www.mettenerife.comand in their social networks.
