A bus stop from the main road of El Portezuelo, in Tegueste, has become a most original workhorse for the residents of the area. No shoulder, no canopy, no more protection than the bushes that surround it… and no benches.
Public transport users have opted for what is known as looking for a life and They have been placing their own chairs for several years so that everyone can at least sit down to wait for the bus. The problem is that they don’t last very long. The neighbors they see how they are disappearing and forcing them to wait standing, which is an ordeal especially for the elderly who live in that area. That is why they put them back and have even tried to tie them with ropes or wires or to the post.
During the last few days, ingenuity has led them to find a peculiar way to avoid “robbery” and guarantee a place to wait for the bus. And it is that a toilet bowl has appeared, which is not that it looks comfortable but at least it is not expected standing up.
A Twitter user wanted to share his discovery through his profile, in an image that is comical even though there is no one sitting waiting at the stop. The tweet, which already accumulates more than a thousand impressions, leads to laughter, it is true, but it is also true that behind the complaint from local residents that they have not found an institutional solution to their demands for a stop in conditions.
