The regional president of the Popular Party, Manuel Domínguez, confirmed yesterday that Carlos Tarife will be the PP’s bet to lead its candidacy for the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council in the municipal elections on May 28, in an act that also included the president insular of the PP, Emilio Navarro.

Domínguez stressed that Tarife, current councilor for Environmental Sustainability and Public Services in the local government, has demonstrated in recent years “his ability to work and dedication for Santa Cruz.” “He is, without any doubt, the best candidate to represent the PP and work for the residents,” she emphasized.

For his part, Tarife thanked the trust and support shown to lead the PP’s candidacy for the capital of Tenerife, and assured that “I will continue to focus on what is most important: work, work and work; and excite the chicharreros, far from the controversy and the management of inertia ”. In addition, he commented that “the city, with its 80 neighborhoods, needs a new impulse”, and highlighted the need to stimulate housing development. “In the next four years we must reach the horizon that people can return to live in Santa Cruz, which has to grow and be the ideal place for couples to develop their life projects. We cannot maintain the same population figures as in the last 10 years”, emphasized Tarife.
