Christ Gilfounder of the Orion Animal Rescue Brigade and now provincial coordinator of PACMAhas shown his indignation on social networks after the Santa Cruz City Council postponed the meeting that was scheduled to address the regulation of fireworks in the capital of Tenerife.
The animalist party managed to collect more of 18,000 signatures at hand to reach an agreement that allows people and animals to coexist “healthily and safely” with the holidays.
“Getting together on December 30 does not make any sense because while we are concentrating the fireworks will continue to sound”, declares the animal rights activist, who emphatically affirms that “we wanted to solve the problem this Christmas, not the next ones”.
PACMA’s proposal mobilized thousands of people and hundreds of companies that set up their establishments to collaborate with the cause, but “they have ignored us again and it seems to us a tremendous injustice.”
“We will continue fighting in 2023 because this is one of our priorities: regulating fireworks in our municipality for the animals, people and the environment,” he concludes.
