SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The haze will tend to shift from west to east on Thursday afternoon, with less concentration on Friday and the wind will blow from the east component on Thursday, turning southeast on Friday, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

From January 31 to 2, the stable atmosphere will predominate despite the fact that there will be an increase in the probability of precipitation on Sunday and, especially on Monday, on the more relief islands.

In the first days of the year, the stable atmosphere is likely to remain, although there is the possibility of some precipitation in the north of the archipelago during these days.

In Spain as a whole, the year 2022 says goodbye this week with higher temperatures for the season and rains in Galicia due to the entry of a front, although it is possible that the precipitations spread to the rest of the country in the last days of December and the beginning of January.

Thus, for this December 29 and 30, the front that has entered through Galicia will continue to leave rainfall that, on Thursday, will spread to the northwestern half of the peninsula and will be more intense and persistent in western Galicia.

The rainfall will tend to subside throughout Friday, although it will remain in Galicia and mountainous systems in the west of the peninsula. In the case of snow, it will be limited to high mountain areas, above 1,800 and 2,000 meters.

Regarding temperatures, they will not experience significant changes, with a tendency to rise in the lows and the values above normal for the season will be maintained, with hardly any frosts, except in isolated high areas of the interior.

The wind will blow from the southwest in general, although it will intensify on Friday, with strong intervals in Galicia and the Cantabrian Mountains.

During Saturday, a stable atmosphere will prevail but, starting in the afternoon, a new front will enter from the northwest, more active than the previous ones, which will sweep the Peninsula from west to east between Saturday and Monday.

Thus, it will leave rainfall that will spread from west to east, which will be more frequent and intense on the Atlantic slope, where it can be locally strong, especially in Galicia, and very unlikely in the Mediterranean area.

After the passage of the front, the rainfall will cease in the second half of Monday, and on January 2, with a significant drop in temperatures. The southerly component winds will predominate, with intervals of strong or very strong in Galicia, the Cantabrian mountain range and other mountainous areas of the west and north of the peninsula, and they will tend to loosen once the front has passed.

For the first days of 2023, between January 3 and 5, there is a wide margin of uncertainty. During January 3 there is a possibility of precipitation in the Cantabrian Sea and on the peninsular Atlantic slope, especially in Galicia, but unlikely in the rest.

During Wednesday the 4th and Thursday the 5th, the possibility of precipitation increases in the southern Mediterranean area, with a stable environment in the rest of the country.
