SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has approved in the Island Government Council the contracting file for the start-up of the services of the Smart Office Tenerife, an intelligent tourist office that will manage all projects in the sector related to digitization.
The insular director of Tourism, Laura Castro, explains in a note that “through this project, which will go out to tender in mid-January, with a budget of 453,333 euros, the aim is to strengthen the competitiveness and security of the tourism sector and consolidate the position of Tenerife as a Smart Tourist Destination (DTI)”.
In this sense, he recalls that “the visitor is increasingly digital, so the tourism strategy will revolve around innovation and modernization in the sector, favoring productivity and competitiveness, as well as new and better experiences.”
The project, which will last twelve months (extendable for another 24), is part of the ‘Tenerife Reset’ project, within the framework of the Program for Destination Sustainability Plans, financed with European Next Generation funds.
The Smart Office Tenerife will manage all the projects on the island linked to digitization, such as the tourist cybersecurity plan or the artificial intelligence plan.
Specifically, it will be endowed with four technical profiles, which will help in obtaining European funds and in the management and justification of the innovation projects that are developed.
