Agents of the National Police two men of Romanian origin, habitual pickpockets, were arrested at the moment of stealing the wallet from an octogenarian tourist in Tenerife.
The National Police agents surprised the detainees when they tried to hide under their clothing a wallet previously stolen from an 84-year-old German citizen, being able to recover the 531 euros and various documentation, immediately delivering it to its owner already in police stations.
The detainees were made available to the competent Judicial Authority. The intervention was carried out within the framework of Operation Autumn, an operation that takes place between the months of October and April, with the aim of reinforcing the service in crime prevention work in the face of the arrival of pickpockets from Europe from the east.
This operation has the support of a member of the Romanian police who works in collaboration with the National Police in the south of the island.
