The Mobility area of the Cabildo de Tenerife will maintain the 50% bonus indefinitely on the tickets that do not qualify for free as of next January 1, 2023. They will be those that during the month do not reach a minimum of 16 trips, one more than the limit of 15 established. The Minister of Mobility, Enrique Arriaga, explains that the The insular government is going to assume the cost of the reduction in the price of the bonds that are outside the measure, such as the five trips and the insular ones for retirees, large families and people with disabilities.
As of next January 1, as agreed by the Governing Council, the resident pass, the youth pass, the senior pass and the pass for people with disabilities will be free, but their users must make a minimum of 15 monthly trips to keep the bonus month by month. month.
automatic gratuity
Arriaga recalls that as of January 1, whoever has any of the free vouchers will automatically access the promotion when renewing it. Those who have not previously had these titles will also be able to access, although they must pay the costs of issuing the personalized card. They are 5 euros, which the current owners paid at the time.
After 15 trips, the subscriber begins to be considered a frequent passenger. At the end of each month it will be verified that this requirement has been met. If so, at the time of renewal the 100% bonus will be applied again.
The way to control is the same as before. In other words, the passenger must validate each time he accesses the vehicle. This is also a key record for compulsory insurance in the event of an accident and, finally, a way of quantifying the number of users on each bus or tram.
Enrique Arriaga explains that after the transitory period since September 1, when the 50% measure was applied, the reduction will now be permanent, the cost of which will be borne by the Cabildo. If you do not reach the number of 16 validations stipulated with the resident pass, the youth pass, the monthly senior pass or the pass for people with disabilities, you will have to pay the reduced price when renewing it. It ranges between 15 and 19 euros depending on the title, while the previous ones ranged from 30 to 38.
The price of the Cabildo’s social bonds will continue to be 12 euros for retirees and people with disabilities, and 15 for large families. Meanwhile, the five-trip pass, which is used above all on the tram, will retain its price of 2.5. Regarding the monthly vouchers that do not qualify for free because they do not meet the minimum number of trips, the youth, the senior and the disabled will have a price of 15 euros; meanwhile, that of a Canarian resident will cost 19.
Quality service
The insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, assures, for his part, that “we are working to guarantee a quality service despite the increase in users. He stresses that “One of the actions that are carried out are the advertising campaigns to disseminate the requirements and conditions of free admission among citizens, and thus avoid confusion once it is launched.”
In addition, León explains that new users can now start processing their registered transport tickets through the website www.tenmas.es, “since they are not received immediately”, but remember that to benefit from the free ticket they must pick it up past January 1. As of that date, the price of the voucher will be reduced to zero, so only the 5 euros of issue must be paid at the collection.
To carry out this procedure, a photograph of the user will be necessary, as well as one of his identity document on both sides. Once requested, it will be received within approximately ten days.
