SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The public hospitals of the Canary Islands Health Service, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, will offer, on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, special menus so that people admitted can enjoy on Christmas Eve and Christmas the recipes that professionals of the kitchen services will be prepared on these special days.
At the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario Insular-Materno Infantil, for Christmas Eve dinner, cream of leeks, salmon with dill sauce, roasted potatoes and carrot Parisienne will be served, and for dessert, Christmas sweets. During the meal on December 25, seafood soup will be served first, beef tenderloin in homemade sauce with fiesta potatoes and broccoli for second course, and gofio custard for dessert.
The Dr. Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria will offer a special menu this Christmas season. In the traditional Christmas Eve dinner, a Castilian soup or vegetable cream from the grandmother will be served first, depending on the diet that the patient must follow. As a second course, truffled turkey will be served with a garnish of Vichy carrots and Duchess potatoes, turkey mousse with a garnish of Duchess potatoes or Mexican-style crepes with beans. In addition, for dessert, patients will be able to taste blueberry cheesecake, tangerines or apple compote and blueberry jelly. Along with each tray, a box with individual portions of the Christmas assortment and a Christmas greeting will be delivered. On December 25 and 31, a special menu will also be offered to make their stay at the hospital more bearable for patients.
The patients of the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Canarias (HUC) will dine on melon soup with Iberian shavings, roasted sea bass on sweet potato mousse and black potatoes with sautéed vegetables and, for dessert, gypsy arm. The next day, Christmas Day, the menu will be tomato cream with basil oil and toasted almonds, Rossini sirloin with Parmesan potato cake and vegetable stew. They will enjoy lemon mousse for dessert.
The Kitchen Service of the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria wants the center’s patients to be able to spend a few more enjoyable Christmas days. In this way, they will serve Caprese salad or vichyssoise for the first course, salmon with the aroma of orange blossom with parisima potatoes for the second course and Oreo cream, as well as a Christmas assortment for dessert, accompanied with cider. For Christmas lunch they will have Pernod seafood soup and beef tenderloin with Porto sauce, accompanied by a nougat cream for dessert.
For Christmas Eve dinner, patients at the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital will enjoy a menu that includes seafood soup as a first course, medallions of pork tenderloin with apple sauce, potatoes with carrot and garlic sauce, to finish off the traditional trout sweet potato and a Christmas assortment. The Kitchen service has also designed a special menu for Christmas Day lunch that offers a pumpkin and orange cream, supreme fish in seafood sauce with turned potatoes and a Christmas log for dessert.
At the General Hospital of La Palma, patients will taste various croquettes on December 24, first Reina consommé, Christmas roll with broccoli and parsley potatoes for second, and dessert Christmas sweets. On Christmas Day there will be deviled eggs as a starter, fish and shellfish soup for starters, beef tenderloin with pepper with sautéed vegetables and golden potatoes and, for dessert, Christmas sweets.
At the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Hospital, for Christmas Eve the scheduled dinner will consist of minestrone soup, chilondrón chicken with roasted potatoes and, for dessert, cheesecake. On Christmas Day the menu will consist of chicken soup with hard-boiled eggs and croutons of bread, first course, cod loin with Canarian sauce on sweet potato tournedó and prawn skewer, second course and, for dessert, seafood custard.
At Hospital Nuestra Señora de los Reyes, chicken soup will be served for Christmas Eve dinner, second course, pork tenderloin in apple sauce with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables and, for dessert, nougat flan. At Christmas Day lunch, roasted pumpkin cream, tuna marmitako and tres leches dessert will be served.
At the General Hospital of Fuerteventura, for Christmas Eve, patients will taste first of all cream of mushrooms and mushrooms with coconut milk, seafood cocktail, to continue with bao bread stuffed with goat meat minced with caramelized onion, duck magret with toast Potato, green apple, goat cheese roll on roasted pumpkin puree and mango sauce, sorbet of Indian prickly pear, papaya and ginger, squid ink noodles with prawns, chard crepes stuffed with seafood with fake black olive caviar , sea bass, shrimp and coconut yakitori with red pepper sauce. For dessert, Jijona nougat tiramisu will be served. On Christmas Day, there will be fresh beef soup first, followed by hake supreme in cider and, for dessert, Uruguayan polvito or cheesecake.
