SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Canary Islands have registered 746 new positives for covid-19 among people over 60 since the last data update last Friday and there have also been twelve deaths, ten in Tenerife, one in Gran Canaria and one in La Palma.
As reported by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, all the cases, aged between 67 and 94 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital.
The accumulated number of coronavirus cases among this group amounts to 105,725 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Accumulated Incidence for this age group at fourteen days stands at 283.66 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at seven days at 149.20.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 101 people admitted for coronavirus, of which nine are in the ICU and the rest, 92, on the ward.
The Ministry of Health reports that since August 12, and in compliance with the Resolution of August 5 of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, the calculation of beds occupied by patients with covid-19 takes into account the number of beds occupied by patients presenting with pneumonia or acute respiratory infection or other pathology that is considered attributable to a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
