The National Police has dismantled a drug sales point in the Santa María del Mar neighborhood in an operation that included the participation of the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife as well as the Customs Surveillance Area of the Regional Customs Unit and Excise Taxes, resulting in the arrest of six people involved, the seizure of narcotic substances and cash, as well as the immobilization of assets of more than 720,000 euros.
The National Police was made aware of the events thanks to the neighborhood collaboration that indicated, through the anonymous participation email [email protected], that in a block of flats in the neighborhood they had been observing an influx of people acquiring narcotic substances from individuals that apparently they had consolidated their activity, investing the profits obtained in the acquisition of properties.
Thus, the investigation was initiated that corroborated the facts and made it possible to discover that who was behind this drug sale was a family whose leader lived in Arafo, as well as the seized substances could be located in one of the family’s apartments.
As a result of the investigation and with the necessary verifications, a device directed by the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife was developed, with the support of the Prevention and Reaction Unit, as well as canine guide units of the Local Police, with the aim of making entries and searches at addresses in Santa Cruz and Arafo, authorized by the judicial authority.
As a result, the drug point was dismantled and the criminal group dismantled, proceeding to the arrest of six people, three men and three women, all of Spanish nationality.
The records seized 450 grams and 35 doses of cocaine prepared for sale, four kilos of substances for cutting and processing, 13 kilos of hashish, 200 grams of marijuana, various doses of MDMA, precision scales, and 53,000 euros in cash. , in addition to high-end mobile phones, a simulated gun, three cars, a motorcycle and other goods likely to have been acquired with the economic benefits of drug trafficking.
On the other hand, the competent judicial authority, at the request of the Customs Surveillance Area, which collaborated in the device, decreed the immobilization of assets worth more than 720,000 euros and the imprisonment of the three men arrested.
