Los Realejos offers free taxis to buy in its commercial areas

The City Hall of Los Realejos offers again, from this Friday the 23rd and until next Thursday the 5th of January 2023, a free taxi shuttle service to shop in open shopping areas of this northern town. The so-called camel taxi promotes collective mobility between places like the helmet, Icod el Alto or La Cruz Santaand at zero cost, which brings potential customers closer to local businesses in this Christmas campaign.

“Is he seventh consecutive year in which we promote this initiative that meets several objectives: free transport, promotion of shared use, support for the taxi sector, creation of synergies and encouragement of consumption in the commercial fabric of the municipality, all for the sake of of greater comfort for citizens who are finalizing their purchases these days”, according to the mayor of Los Realejos, Adolfo González (PP).

The councilor responsible for the Transport area, Alexis Hernandez (PP)adds that “start and wait stops will be enabled at various points in these areas where customers can get into these shared taxis, but they will also be able to access these vehicles if we find them circulating on the routes established for each line, which makes the service more accessible and comfortable».

To identify these camels taxithe Department of Commerce and Transport have once again edited some magnetic badges that will be placed on the front hood of each of the vehicles, in which a king’s crown appears and the text camel taxi. At the respective stops there are banners or identifying fences indicating the corresponding line.

For Hernández, this initiative “also serves as support for the taxi sector in The Realejos which, obviously, will be a direct beneficiary of this initiative, since races are guaranteed in an important period of sales ».

Service camels taxi It is enabled between this Friday, December 23, 2022, and Thursday, January 5, 2023, except for December 25 and January 1. The service hours coincide with the opening hours of the local business, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On December 24 and 31 and January 5, the service will be provided only in the morning.

Line 1, green, covers the route between Icod el Alto and Realejo Alto, with pickup at the taxi rank in front of the Cajasiete office in Icod el Alto, Doctor González street, Canarias avenue and La Unión square. Line 2, fuchsia, unites La Cruz Santa, Realejo Alto, San Agustín and Toscal Longuera. It has stops in the Plaza de San Agustín, the Plaza de la Unión, the La Caixa office in La Cruz Santa and the Plaza de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Toscal Longuera.
