SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has advocated this Tuesday in the control session to the Government for defending “with strength” the separation of powers, as a result of the decision of the Constitutional Court to stop the parliamentary processing of the two amendments for the that the system of election and arrival of the two candidates to the TC that the CGPJ must appoint was modified.
“Let us strongly defend the separation of powers and the legitimacy that the Chambers and parliamentarians have to say that we are the ones who defend, with our vote and our word, what is later regulated and legislated so that it is applied in the street,” The Canarian president has pointed out in response to a question from the spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Nira Fierro.
Ángel Víctor Torres, who was questioned by the socialist spokesperson about the recent stabilization agreement in various areas, such as Health, pointed out that when a law is approved, such as Law 20/2021, of December 28, “what we have to do is respect it, abide by it and put it into practice”.
In this sense, Torres stressed that the Government has complied with the deadlines set by this law in a “scrupulous” manner and has approved the different bases in areas such as Health, Education, Public Administration and, soon, Justice.
“Therefore, I think that a magnificent job has been done together with the unions, getting the jobs in a timely manner to put an end to the situation of some people who had been abusing temporary employment for up to 20 years,” said the president, adding that This government “has done is roll up its sleeves, get to work and look for formulas to get a decent proposal for the workers.”
