SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, has informed this Tuesday that since last November he has assumed the management of the entities dependent on the Technological Institute and Renewable Energies (ITER), which become part of the Presidency area , given the strategic nature of the projects that are being promoted in terms of renewable energies and technologies, according to the agreement reached between the PSOE and Cs groups.
Martín has chaired both ITER and its dependent entities since the beginning of the mandate, in 2019, so this agreement does not imply, in practice, significant changes for these public companies dependent on the Cabildo de Tenerife, collects a note from the Cabildo.
ITER promotes strategic projects such as wind repowering, geothermal energy, the promotion of technology that allows the introduction of green hydrogen in Tenerife or the development of photovoltaic energy in collaboration with the island’s town halls, SMEs and the self-employed to generate added value in the local economy through the generation and accumulation of energy from renewable sources and its subsequent discharge into the insular electrical network.
