The proposal of IES San Benito enhancing the streets of the city and the human values of La Laguna has been chosen as the winner of this edition of the educational project My city in a graffiti, organized by the City Council through the Department of Historical Heritage, directed by Elvira Jorge, and in collaboration with the Adaris Canarias Association.
The mural of the IES San Benito was distinguished as the best, in addition to its good artistic result, because it represents the criteria by which La Laguna has been included in the Unesco list as a World Heritage Site: the regular layout of its streets and the rich exchange of human values symbolized by hands of different colors.
The Laguna Councilor for Historical Heritage was “very satisfied with the success of this educational project that has captured the interest of our young people”, and explained that this initiative “had the objective of combating the practice of vandal graffiti in our city, declared World Heritage ”.
