SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Aena has evaluated the documentation provided by the eight companies submitted to the tender for the first technical assistance of the comprehensive remodeling project of the Tenerife South Airport and has selected those that continue in the next phase of the process.
The selected companies are the five that have obtained the highest score for their experience in similar projects, both at the corporate level and for the technicians responsible for the project: UTE CEMOSA – FAIRBANKS ARQUITECTOS SLP, UTE PROINTEC SA – EFEBEARQUITECTURA SLP, UTE SENER ING Y SISTEMAS SA – META ENGINEERING SA, WSP SPAIN-APIA SA and UTE SEG SL (SOND EST AND GEO) – ONE WORKS SPA.
These companies now have a period of 75 days to submit their technical and architectural proposals, which will be evaluated in accordance with the criteria established in the tender.
Specifically, this is the tender for the files of Technical Assistance for Project Drafting (ATRP) and Technical Assistance for Architecture (ATA) for the comprehensive remodeling of the terminal area, which was approved by the Aena Board of Directors, with an amount of 6.3 million euros.
The aforementioned assistance is broken down into the following services: Block 1.- Drafting of the project that defines the actions to be carried out to completely remodel the terminal area of the Airport, with an amount of 5.7 million euros and an expected term of 26 months; Block 2.- Includes architectural advice to the construction management during the execution of the works, with a net amount of 0.6 million euros and a planned period of 57 months.
In addition to these files, the tender for complementary technical assistance actions for the baggage handling and aircraft assistance system is planned, for an expected amount of 1.7 million euros, which will be matched with the project drafting file, to achieve coordination in its execution and its result.
The total amount of technical assistance for the global project reaches 8 million euros, as Aena advanced in a meeting with the Cabildo de Tenerife and economic and social agents of the island that took place in May.
AN INVESTMENT OF 300 MILLION EUROS
These files are part of the ambitious comprehensive remodeling project of the terminal area of the Tenerife Sur Airport, which will be included in the DORA III proposal and which will involve an estimated initial investment of more than 300 million euros, as announced by the minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, last May during the inauguration of the largest expansion of the Airport to date.
This project will mean the integration of the entire terminal area of the airport, both from the architectural point of view and with the environment itself.
Among the planned improvements, and pending the drafting of the final project, are the ordering and execution of new car parks and accesses; the review of urbanization and landscaping; the adequacy of the baggage reclaim hall; the expansion of the billing and boarding areas, or the incorporation of more commercial services.
Aena is making a huge investment effort to turn this airport into a benchmark among its peers at an international level, offering modern infrastructures, in keeping with the territory they serve and focused on quality, innovation and sustainability. During the first DORA (Airport Regulation Document) 2017-2022, it has invested 159.4 million euros in the Tenerife South Airport.
